My passion for affordable timepieces began with my first ever watch, a Victorinox Classic field watch. Victorinox is a company most commonly known for their eponymous Swiss army knives, and like their cutlery their timepieces are reliable standbys. Victorinox is an impressive option for those in search of a more affordable entry into Swiss watchmaking than perhaps a Rolex or Omega. Their designs are minimalistic elegance and their entirely Swiss made craftmanship is unfailingly durable. I personally favor their intensely precise quartz options such as the brawny diving watch called the Maverick, however their pilot’s watch, the Air Boss boasts a Swiss made automatic Selita SW200 movement with a 38-hour power reserve. In addition, the INOX watch, whose name is an acronym for Impact Neutralization Object for the Extremes, is a virtually indestructible sports watch. In fact, to prove how indestructible this watch really is, Victorinox routinely posts videos of various INOX models being submitted to open flames, several hundred-foot drops, and being run over by construction equipment all very entertaining to watch and marvel at. All of the aforementioned models can be had for under $1,500 dollars and as they are routinely stocked in discount stores such as T.J. Maxx and Nordstrom Rack there are further savings to be had. I find the best deals are found on Amazon where I purchased a 43mm analog quartz Maverick retailing for $595 for a fraction of that at $190!

Never knew there was so much to learn about watches. I thought I was partial to the gold one, however as I peruse the post again I find there are several that are exquisite.
