Located in Laguna’s idyllic canyon pass, directly next door to the SoCal icon, the Sawdust Arts and Crafts festival is an unassuming structure with a Land Rover Series III in perfect patina parked out front. Another Kind Café boasts itself as a “cross-cultural canteen” complete with delightful coffee drinks and teas. The menu is the perfect size and complete with varied options crafted from locally sources ingredients. The Chicken Satay and Sai Thanh slaw were refreshing starters. For my main course I ordered the Special no. 1 which consisted of a perfectly poached egg over seasoned stir-fried pork. This dish was delightful in both flavor and texture. The food in general was reasonably priced and very clean to the palate. One could dine generously absent from feeling overly full and content with the knowledge that their meal was crafted with quality and thoroughly healthful. Further, this fine establishment is frequented by none other than noted Porsche enthusiast, Luftgekuhlt collaborator, and Pikes Peak champion Jeff Zwart who is known to cruise down in his analog masterpiece Carrera 6.

Wow Benjamin!! Just read your post about this cafe. So engaging and delightfully written! Beautiful photos as well; that egg is a work of art! Perhaps you should consider being a food critic...
